Robert Marshak Postdoctoral Fellowship
at the University of Rochester

The University of Rochester Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for the Robert Marshak Postdoctoral Fellowship in Experimental or Theoretical Particle or Nuclear Physics.

The Marshak Fellowship has been established to honor the distinguished career of Prof. Robert Marshak and to offer young scientists the opportunity to pursue innovative research at the University Rochester in the fields of particle and nuclear physics. Fellows will receive, in addition to full salary support, a supplemental stipend of $2500 per year as well as a research expense fund of at least $2000 per annum to be used at their discretion.

It is expected that this research will require the support of one of the established experimental or theoretical particle or nuclear physics groups at Rochester. Accordingly, applicants for the Marshak fellowship are strongly encouraged to contact potential research advisors in particle or nuclear physics at Rochester in advance of submitting their application. Current postdoctoral positions with which the Marshak Fellowship may be associated are often posted on the Physics and Astronomy Department web site.

Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae, bibliography of publications, preprints of manuscripts not yet published, an indication of the group with which the candidate would most likely be associated, and a description of the anticipated research program. In addition, the applicant should arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be sent to the committee. Application material should be mailed to
