Biography

Sheth joined the Physics faculty at the University of Rochester in July 2023 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Physics (Instructional). Sheth received his B.Sc. in Physics from Moi University in Kenya in 2006. In 2009, after completing the diploma in Basic physics and high energy program at the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, Sheth joined the University of Rochester to purse a Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics under the guidance of Udo Schroeder. Sheth’s Ph.D. work was in the field of heavy-ion reaction and novel detector development focused on the dynamics of heavy-ion reactions near the Fermi energy regime and analysis strong pulse dependence of light bursts generated by gamma-rays, neutrons, and charged particles in a PSD capable plastic scintillator. Sheth joined Rochester Institute of Technology in August of 2016 as a visiting Lecturer of physics. He was promoted to Lecturer in 2019 and to senior Lecturer in 2023.
