• There are singular periods of exploration in human history. At times the levies break and people come to the edge of what is known.  Then,  expanding away before them are radically new vistas of understanding.

 
 
• Pre-Common Era Greece was one such turning point.
• Renaissance Europe was another.

 
 
•  Today, in astronomy at least, we are in the midst of new "golden age" of discovery.

 
 
• This explosion in new knowledge is being driven in large part by Space born astronomy
