ReA3 - NSCL RADIOACTIVE BEAM FACILITY

The ReA3 exotic beam facility at the Michigan State University National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory will be commissioned in 2012. It will provide proton-rich beams for Z≤82 and neutron-rich beams for Z≤40 with useful intensities at maximum beam energies ranging from 6.2MeV/u for mass 48 to 3MeV/u for mass 238. The collaborative research program, named JANUS, will exploit the SeGA γ-ray detector array plus a Bambino type heavy-ion detector. ReA3 will be part of the major FRIB exotic beam facility planned to be constructed at NSCL.
