TIGRESS
TRIUMF- ISAC Gamma- Ray Escape Suppressed Spectrometer

The front face of one TIGRESS 32-fold segmented clover detector formed from packing four HPGe cylindrical crystals that are tapered at the front.

TIGRESS is a highly segmented gamma-ray spectrometer, consisting of 12 Compton-suppressed HPGe clover detectors in closed-packed geometry.

The TRIUMF-ISAC Gamma-Ray Escape Suppressed Spectrometer (TIGRESS) is a state-of-the-art new gamma-ray spectrometer being developed for use at TRIUMF's Isotope Separator and Accelerator (ISAC) radioactive beam facility and, in particular, following the upgrade to higher-mass and higher-energy radioative beams (ISACII). Construction of TIGRESS is being funded through an $8.06M NSERC Major Installation GRANT over the six-year period FY 2003-08. Further information is available from the 2005/05 Progress Report.
