The Nuclear Structure Research Group maintains CHICO, Rochester's position-sensitive heavy-ion auxiliary detector for Gammasphere. CHICO specifications and performance information can be found in the NIM paper.

- Nuclear structure, such as mixing phenomena and K-isomers in collective nuclei
- Multistep Coulomb excitation analysis
