Information for My P114 Lab Students
I have a few different things you can access from here, as a source of
reference information about the labs. (I don't have the lab manuals
themselves on here, as you can access them either through the department's
home page or through gopher; email me if you are having trouble.) If
there's any comments you have on this material, or other things that would
be useful for me to put up here, let me know and I might just do it...
- Important:
- The version of the "Superconductivity" lab that is on the
standard gopher or HTML access is an older version. Sorry
about the confusion, but the lab has been made
significantly simpler, so if you haven't yet downloaded the
lab manual for the superconductivity lab, don't.
The latest version is available on the net from this
link
in HTML form. Also, Douglass is planning on having printed
copies available in the lab, but it'd be better if you printed
it out early so you can do the pre-lab and get an idea of
what you'll be doing.
Also, for the pre-lab, you only have to do two of the
questions. If you download the latest version (from the link
above), there are only two questions; if you have one of the
older versions, only do questions (1) and (3).
- General Information:
- Notes on specific labs:
- Experiment 6: Coulomb's Law
- Experiment 8: Electron Beams
- Experiment 9: Superconductivity
- Experiment 12: Geometrical Optics and Imaging (not yet)
- Experiment 13: The Wave Nature of the
Electromagnetic Spectrum
