Joe is a fifth year graduate student on the Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) experiment in Prof. Nick Bigelow's Cooling and Trapping (CAT) group. He is a member of both the Center for Coherence and Quantum Optics and the Quantum Optics journal club. Outside of the lab, Joe has participated in outreach to elementary and high school groups. In addition to BECs, he is interested in bicycling, baking, bouldering, and movies. Especially those shot in black-and-white.
Austin is a second year graduate student working in Patrick Oakes' cellular biophysics group. Outside of the lab, you can catch him picking up heavy things in the gym, bouldering, or jamming with Alex and Sean.
Avi is a third year graduate student working at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics with Prof. Dustin Froula. Research includes plasma mirrors, laser wakefield acceleration, and measuring distribution functions. In addition to physics Avi enjoys ultimate frisbee.
