Chimney Bluffs is an area in Central New York on the shores of Lake Ontario, about 40 miles east of Rochester.
The land is a drumlin, created from a sheet of ice a thousand or more years ago.
The beach was made of peebles and rocks of various sizes, all smoothed by the gentle
waves. These pictures were taken on Saturday, July 19th, 2003.
According to some locals, the ice storm earlier this year caused a bit of damage. There
were many fallen trees and parts of the trail were blocked, and sometimes even washed away somehow.
