PHY 415: Electromagnetic Theory I
Prof. S. Teitel stte@pas.rochester.edu ---- Fall 2011

 Sunday, December 25, 2012

The final exam has been graded, and course grades have been awarded. You may see how you did by looking at your grades on the Blackboard system. I will return your final exam to your mailbox. If you do not have a mailbox in the physics department, you may pick your exam up from me.

A histogram of grades on the final exam is posted on the Homework page.

 Thursday, December 22, 2011

The final exam and the solutions are now posted on the Homework page. I hope to grade the exam soon, but can't promise a specific date. Have a happy holiday and break!

 Thursday, December 15, 2011

Solutions to Problem Set 7 are now posted on the Homework page.

The FINAL EXAM will be Wednesday, December 21, at 7:15 pm in BL 269. The exam will be 2.5 hours long. The exam is closed book, closed notes and counts 35% towards your final course grade. The exam will be similar in style to the midterm exam, with most likely four problems, one of which will be a set of short answer questions. Roughly 70% of the exam will focus on material since the midterm, i.e. from the macroscopic Maxwell Equations through radiation. The remaining 30% may come from anywhere during the semester. There will be no questions on relativity. GOOD LUCK!

I hope to return your HW 7 to your mailbox once the grader returns it to me, hopefully by next Tuesday. If you do not have a mailbox in the Physics Department, you may pick up your HW 7 from me.

 Wednesday, October 19, 2011

The MIDTERM EXAM will take place Friday, November 4, from 11am - 12:30 pm in BL 269. The exam is closed book, closed notes, and will cover the material up to, but not including, our discussion of the macroscopic Maxwell's equations. The exam is not made up yet, but most likely there will be three problems: two of a calculational nature, and one of a short answer nature.

Solutions to Problem Set 3 are now posted on the Homework page.

Notes through lecture 13 are posted on the Lecture Notes page.
