Course grades have been submitted to the registrar.

Notes through lecture 29 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page.

The FINAL EXAM will be Tuesday, December 18, from 12:30 - 3:30pm in BL 269. The exam is closed book, closed notes, no cell phones or other electronic equipment allowed. The exam will focus on material since the midterm exam but will not include relativity, so lectures 14 - 27; but the exam may involve material from anywhere during the semester.

The online course evaluation is now available on the Blackboard system. I would greatly appreciate your taking a few moments to fill out the evaluation. Your feedback is important to me.

Problem Set 7 is due this Friday. You may turn it in during Friday's lecture, or if you want a bit more time you can turn it in by 2pm to the homework locker.

Remember! The Midterm Exam is this Friday, November 16, 9:15 - 11:00am in Goergen 108. The exam will be closed book, closed notes, no electronic or other devices. I will give you a copy of the formulas on the inside front and back covers of the textbook by Griffiths, so you won't need to memorize those (however you will be expected to use CGS units in your work). The exam will cover all material through the end of lecture 13, i.e., everything up to but not including dielectric and magnetic materials.

Two additional make-up lectures have been scheduled for Tuesday 9:40 - 10:55am on November 27 and December 4, in Morey 525.

I would like to schedule the MIDTERM EXAM for our make-up lecture period, Friday November 16. The make-up lecture is usually scheduled from 9:45 - 11:00 am, but I would like to start the exam earlier at 9:15 am so that you have more time. Please let me know immediately if you could NOT make an exam that Friday starting 9:15 am.

Reminder: Lecture next Monday, October 1, as well as my office hour on Monday, are canceled. The next lecture is Wednesday, October 3.

Make-up lectures have now been rescheduled for Fridays, 9:45 - 11:00 am, in Goergen 108. This is the same time period and location as for the Department's teaching seminar. We will use dates when the teaching seminar will not be taking place. These will be October 19, November 9 and 16, and December 7.
