For the time being, this page is just being used to collect images for the CIRC, but I can see this becoming a good place to showcase our work. I might ultimately reorganize this gallery and add links to project pages.

Magnetic field lines oriented in the x-direction and their interaction with a hypersonic clumpy flow. A Mach-25 speed wind is continuously injected into the grid from the left where it encounters and disperses a field of denser rings of gas clumps. The dynamic interplay between the clumps, shocks, and magnetic field is illustrated in these synthetic schlieren images.

In contrast to the Bx case, it is found that magnetic field lines oriented in y act to inhibit the dispersal of the clumps. The result is a thick wall of compacted gas and shocks that sweeps up the field as it traverses the grid.

This image shows the distribution of a 16 processor job with 2 additional levels of AMR. The finer levels have been enlarged for clarity. Also shown is the hilbert curve on the base level which tracks out the processor distribution.
