Course design: depth rather than breadth

Purposes of the course:
- to demystify relativity, black holes and cosmology for non-scientists, to enable them to evaluate critically the frequent references to these concepts in the press and in popular science and science-fiction literature.
- to provide non-scientists a glimpse of the processes by which scientific theories are conceived and advanced.
- (to advance computer literacy among non-science majors.)
