This is the calculation of MA using Kitagaki_83
I calculate their flux is the most correct way I can, but
it turns, it doesn't matter. Just using Flux histogram (Fig 6)
on page 440 of Kitagaki_83 and just summing over the flux points
gives me just about the same answer. 
  To calculate the flux I use Table 1 given in Kitagaki_82 which
gives the flux. The first 2 points in the table are from the 
QE histogram.  I add the first point given in the plot to this. (For 
some reason the first point on the plot is not in the table.
I don't know why but I added using a ruler.)
Therefore, the first 3 points are histogram points, ie
the area dirived by counting the number of events in a bin.
 The rest of the points are taken from a curve, 
not from the number of events in a bin. Hence, my spline area
fit doesn't work. Therefore, I take the points in the plot
and put them into a regular spline curve  fit. Then I integrate
between the points to get a the number of events in the bin. 
Now I can apply the spline area fit to these points. 
Therefore I get a spline fit of Table 1. 

  
   The curve with MA=1.05 agrees with their curve as 
well as I can tell. However, my MA does not agree with their value 
  
Below is the result of the fit done in  the same way as before.
