Hannah is a fourth year graduate student working on laboratory astrophysics in Pierre Gourdain's lab. When she isn't thinking of ways to make tiny versions of celestial objects, she loves to sing, salsa dance, knit, and hang out with her poorly behaved cat.
Bobbie is a third year Phd student in Astrophysics in Adam Frank's group. When not doing science, they can be found making music (they play bass, guitar, and drums), sailing (or watching other boats sail since they are also a race official), playing Minecraft, or watching Doctor Who.
I'm a fourth-year graduate student working with Bose-Einstein condensates in Nick Bigelow's lab. Outside of physics, I've sometimes been known to play video games, run around in a manner that, at least from a distance, kind of resembles playing a sport, and shower my dog with love and attention (primarily by stealing his toys).
Hello! I am Nick Black, the VP of mentorship. As a member of Prof. Robert Boyd's research group, I study ways to increase the resolution of imaging systems using the strong correlations between entangled photons. I am also trying to develop ways to keep very powerful laser beams from breaking up as they propagate through the atmosphere and interact with themselves. Outside of research I love playing with my son Henry, running, and playing guitar/recording music. I am learning to sail with my advisor as well.
I am in my fourth year and I work with Prof. Andrew Jordan on quantum measurements. Right now, I am in Orange county, CA with Prof. Jordan. I love to do painting (traditional or digital) when I am not solving equations.
