Solutions to the Final Exam are now posted on the Homework page.
The FINAL EXAM is now posted on the Homework page, or you can download it as a pdf file here. This is a closed book exam - no books, notes, classmates, friends, etc., may be consulted. You may work only three hours on the exam, and you must return it to the box outside my office, BL 455B, by noon on Monday, December 18. Solutions will be posted later this week. You may pick up you HW 4 from the chair outside my office. Have a happy holiday and break!
All lecture notes for the class, including the last lecture 27, are now posted on the Lecture Notes page.
Solutions to Problem Set 4 are now posted on the Homework page.
Course evaluation forms will be passed out tomorrow in lecture. Notes through lecture 26 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page. Solutions to Problem Set 4 should get posted by tomorrow noon at the latest.

Problem Set 4, due Monday, December 11, in lecture, is now posted on the Homework page. The FINAL EXAM will be a take home exam. It will be posted on this website by noon on Sunday, December 17, and you must turn it in to the box outside my office by noon on Monday, December 18. You are honor bound to work no more than 3 hours total on the exam and to consult no books, notes, websites, or other human beings.

Notes through lecture 20 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page. There will be a makeup lecture this Friday, December 1, at 3:00 pm in BL 208. Another makeup lecture will be the following Friday, December 8, same time and place.
Problem Set 3, due Monday, December 4, in lecture, is now posted on the Homework page.
Solutions to the Midterm Exam are now posted on the Homework page. Notes through lecture 18 are posted on the Lecture Notes page. We have makeup lectures scheduled for Fridays, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8, at 3 pm, room TBA. There will be two more homework assignments before the end of the semester. The next should get posted in the next day or two!

The due date for Problem Set 2 has been postponed until Wednesday, November 8, in lecture. The date for the Midterm Exam has been set for Wednesday, November 15, in lecture. The exam is closed book and will cover material through the end of Thomas-Fermi screening.

The Midterm Exam has been tentatively scheduled for the 2nd week of November. Details to follow. The Final Exam has been set by the registrar for Sunday, December 17, 7:15 pm in BL 269.

I regret that I have to cancel lecture today. Lectures will resume Monday, October 9. You may have an extension on the first Problem Set until then. To make up for today's missed lecture, we will have an extra lecture next week on Friday, October 13, 2:00-3:15 pm. in BL 106.
