Solutions to the Final Exam are now posted on the Homework page.
The Final Exam time has been changed to:
Thursday, May 9, 10 am - 1 pm, in BL 173
There will be roughly 3 problems. You get to bring
one cheat sheet, like you did for the midterm. You
will NOT have the opportunity to redo the exam at home -
this time, the in class part is all there will be.
I am in general around in my office this week, and would
be happy to answer any questions -- just stop by (knock
on the door if it is closed).
Good luck, and see you Thursday at 10 am.
Solutions to Problem Set 6 are now posted on the Homework page.
All Lecture Notes through the end of the course are now posted on the Lecture Notes page.
Problem Set 6 is now posted. The official due date is Tuesday March 30, in lecture. However anyone who needs some extra time is welcome to hand it in to me (put it in my mailbox) by Thursday May 2, 2pm. Note: this problem is not very technically difficult, once you have figured out what to do - however it may take some time and thinking for you to clarify just what you have to do!
I will pass out course evaluation forms this Thursday, April 25. Please come to give me your feedback!

Midterm Exam: As was discussed in lecture today, you are allowed to bring
one "cheat sheet" to the midterm exam on Thursday. This must
be a regular 9.5"x11" sheet of lined paper, with one line of
handwritting per ruled line of the page. You may write on both
sides.
The midterm exam is Thursday morning during the usual lecture
period. The exam will be proctored by the grader, Dahu Qi.
Unfortunately, I will not be available after Wednesday around
1 pm, but you are welcome to contact me, or come to see me,
with questions anytime before that.
The exam will probably have two problems and cover material up
to spring break.
Good luck on the exam!
Correction: A sign error in the
statement of problem 2(c) on Problem Set 3 has been corrected.

Next week is spring break. The following week of March 18 I am out of town at the APS meeting, so lectures that week are canceled. There will be a make-up lecture the following week on Monday, March 25, at 12:30.
The Midterm Exam will be held in class on Thursday, March 28. It is closed book and covers all material up until spring break.
