Solutions for Problem Set 8 are now posted on the Homework page. Tomorrow, Friday, December 16, is the last day to fill out the online course evaluation. If you have not already done so, please take a few minutes to fill out the evaluation. Your feedback is important to me, and I would appreciate it. Have a great break!

Remember, there is a make-up lecture this Friday at 12:30pm in BL 375. Notes through Lecture 25 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page. Problem Set 8, due Wednesday, December 14, is now posted on the Homework page. You have to wait until we finish lecture 27 and much of lecture 28 before you will have seen the material needed to do this problem set.

We will have make-up lectures on Fridays, November 11, 18, and December 2, from 12:30 - 1:45 pm. The room will be announced soon.

Notes through lecture 13 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page. I have also added to the notes for lecture 12 the discussion proving that the Wigner-Seitz cell is a primitive cell of the Bravais Lattice.
Solutions to Problem Set 3 are now posted on the Homework page. Problem Set 4, due Tuesday November 1, is now posted on the Homework page.
Notes through lecture 12 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page. I have induced in them some notes on the Bravais lattice with a basis, that I rushed through at the end of today's lecture, but that you will need to know for problem 2 on Problem Set 3 due Thursday. Note: lecture this Thursday is canceled. We meet next on Tuesday, October 25.

Notes through lecture 11 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page. Problem Set 3, due Thursday, October 20, is now posted on the Homework page.
Recall, only problems 1 and 2 on Problem Set 2 are due today by 11:59pm. You may have an additional week to turn in problem 3, which will be due Thursday, October 13, by 11:59pm. Use the same upload page on Blackboard for both these parts of Problem Set 2. I have set that upload page to accept 2 submission attempts. So use one tonight, and use the second next week. Note, next week Monday and Tuesday is Fall Break, so our next lecture will be Thursday, October 13. Also note, I have to cancel the lecture on Thursday, October 20.
Notes through lecture 9 are now posted on the Lecture Notes page. Problem Set 2 is due this Thursday by 11:59 pm. The interesting part of problem 2 is the very last paragraph of the question. See what you can come up with! To do problem 3, you will need the material covered in lecture 9. Hopefully we will get through that in lecture tomorrow. The last part (f) of the problem is the trickiest! You will need to remember your E&M. Note: I will not be available to respond to email or slack questions from Tuesday late afternoon through late Wednesday night.
