About us

Bobbie Markwick (she/they) is a fifth year PhD student working in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Information Theory. Outside of Physics, Bobbie enjoys creating music, playing D&D, and either curling or sailing depending on the season. Prior to becoming president, Bobbie served as Vice President of Fellowship. As president, Bobbie hopes to ensure that PASSAGE offers a variety of events which allow member to interact with each other and with the broader community.

Nitya is the PASSAGE VP of Fellowship and a second year Ph.D. student in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. She works with the cosmology group studying galaxy kinematics. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies and playing bass.

Mary is a second year PhD student, and currently serves as the PASSAGE VP for Mentorship. She is a member of the Flash Center, performing computational astrophysics research. She is motivated by education and outreach, and hopes to become a tenure-track professor in the future. In her free time she enjoys swimming, playing video games with her friends, and painting.

Amy is a PhD working on astrophysics related simulations and is interested in the common envelope phase of binary stars.
