PHY 143 — Modern Physics

Course Description

Second course in a three-semester honors sequence for students planning to concentrate in physics, astrophysics, or astronomy. Covers the same topics as PHY 123 in greater depth, including the Bohr model, de Broglie waves, energy quantization, Heisenberg's uncertainty relation, electron spin, photon interference, Bell's inequalities, and applications in solid-state, nuclear, and particle physics.

Prior to the first lab, go through the statistics & error analysis tutorial. Print out the accompanying document, and go through the examples.
