AST 142: Elementary Astrophysics

AST 142 covers celestial objects outside the Solar System. We discuss the formation and structure of stars, the structure and distribution of galaxies, and the origin and evolution of the Universe. The class meets twice per week for lectures and once weekly for a recitation. Students will also visit Mees Observatory to conduct observations when conditions allow.
