Welcome to my webpage! I am an astrophysicist who currently studies (i) interactions between stars in binary systems and (ii) the origin and evolution of magnetic fields in galaxies. My tools are direct numerical simulation, analytic theory, and everything in between. The ultimate goal of my work is to directly compare my models with observational data and thus gain a better understanding of these astrophysical processes. I am currently Postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Rochester. Prior to this, I was Postdoctoral Fellow jointly at the University of Cape Town and the University of the Western Cape. I defended my PhD Thesis in March 2015 at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics. Prior to my PhD I taught International Baccalaureate Diploma physics at the Mahindra United World College of India. I am a native of Montreal, Canada.
Research
My main research interests are:
- Interacting binary stellar systems with emphasis on common envelope evolution
- Astrophysical dynamos with emphasis on the evolution of galactic magnetic fields
